After the first third of the 2013 season, it's clear the Ravens don't have the offensive playmakers that other teams around the AFC do. With the NFL trade deadline looming after Week Eight, here are four talented young receivers that could be available if the world champs picked up the phone and inquired about their services.
1. Justin Blackmon, Jacksonville Jaguars
After his 14 catch performance last week aganst the Broncos, it's clear that Blackmon is the lone bright spot on the Jaguars offense at the moment. Would they lose that to build for the future? This one is a long shot but Blackmon was suspended for the first four games of the season so maybe Jacksonville could be persuaded to ship the talented youngster out of town for a couple draft picks.
2. Josh Gordon, Cleveland Browns
While it's unlikely the Browns would trade Flash Gordon to a team in their own division, it's hard to deny the Baylor alum has legit talent. Ryan Burns of Football Sickness joined the show during training camp and said Gordon had the talent to be a top five receiver in the NFL. We've seen flashes from him and I can only imagine what kind of numbers he would produce with Joe Flacco throwing him the ball.
On Josh Gordon: #Browns owe it to themselves to answer the phone and listen. Any team would. Worked on Trent, may not get a 2nd for Gordon
The G-Men are 0-6 and Nicks is a free agent at the end of the season. Why would you NOT trade the disgruntled former Tarheel and at least get something for him.
If the Ravens do acquire Nicks they might need to get some gloves custom made for him. Look at those mitts!
4. Kenny Britt, Tennessee Titans
Can you believe Britt is only 25 years old? The fact that he's been arrested eight time might scare Ozzie Newsome and company away but he has the physical tools to be an absolute beast on Sundays. However, if it hasn't happened yet you have to wonder if he will ever reach his vast potential after four years in the league.
