Three Games to look forward to on the Ravens Schedule

Posted on April 24, 2014 by Slater Jackson

The moment the NFL schedule was released, Ravens fans all over started circling their calendars. With so many big games on the schedule it is hard to determine which games are the biggest or are going to be the most exciting. With that in mind here are 3 games that are going to get your blood pumping and have you waving the Ravens banner high.

Week 1: Ravens Vs Bengals

The Ravens finally get the home opener that they deserved last season, whilst it may be a season too late the Ravens have a chance to redeem themselves on opening day. With the Ravens as defending champions having to play on the road in their opener last season they were embarrassed in Denver by Peyton Manning. The worst possible start to a season that could be imagined happened and has left a bitter taste in their mouths. Facing a division rival first up will provide plenty of fireworks as both teams look for the early ascendency in the race for the division crown.

Week 2: Ravens Vs Steelers

The best rivalry in the NFL goes primetime in this week 2 clash of the titans that could set the tone for the season. Brutal and close games are the signature of this rivalry and nothing less should be expected when the two face off on national television. Both the Ravens and Steelers finished last season with identical records and they split their division games last season. There is always controversy surrounding these games and after last seasons “turkey gate” where Steelers Head Coach Mike Tomlin interfered with a play on the field you can guarantee there will be more antics to come.

Week 7: Ravens Vs Falcons

Joe Flacco and Matt Ryan will be forever compared to each other after being 1st round draft picks together in 2008. Ryan was the consensus no.1 QB in that draft and was taken at no.3 whilst Flacco was picked up by the Ravens at 18. Whilst Flacco has a Superbowl ring and Superbowl MVP to his name along with an incredible winning percentage in the regular season and the post season the debate on who is better still rages on. This game gives Flacco another chance to separate himself from Ryan and also push the Ravens forward against a tough NFC team.
