Predicting the Ravens Starting Lineup Post NFL Draft

Posted on May 19, 2014 by Phil Gentile

Offense:

QB - Joe Flacco

RB - Ray Rice

FB - Kyle Juszczyk

WR - Steve Smith, Torrey Smith

TE - Dennis Pitta

LT -  Eugene Monroe

LG - Kelechi Osemele

C - Jeremy Zuttah

RG - Marshal Yanda

RT - Rick Wagner

Thoughts: Ravens didn't address the offense much in this weekend's NFL Draft so not much has changed. Rice's legal situation could lead to a suspension but even then we would see Bernard Pierce getting the carries over the rookie Taliaferro. The WR corp is as deep as it's ever bee with Torrey Smith, Steve Smith, Jacoby Jones, and Marlon Brown. Look for lots of two tight-end sets with Pitta and Daniels with a little Crockett Gillmore sprinkled in. The biggest concern is still the Ravens offensive line.

Defense:

DE - Chris Canty

DT - Brandon Williams

NT - Haloti Ngata

OLB - Terrell Suggs, Elvis Dumervil

ILB - Daryl Smith, C.J. Mosley

CB - Jimmy Smith, Lardarius Webb

FS - Terrence Brooks

SS - Matt Elam

Thoughts: The Ravens coaching staff sees Mosley as an "immediate starter" and Terrence Brooks seems to be the starter at free safety since Elam is being moved to strong safety. Two new starters from the 2014 draft class is ideal but they will have to learn their roles quickly. With Arthur Jones leaving via free agency look for Brandon Williams to sneak into the starting lineup. He's a guy I really liked coming out of college and he really didn't get a chance to prove himself last season. Smith and Webb are one of the better cornerback duos in the league. The biggest concern might be replacing Corey Graham, the Ravens nickel cornerback last season who led the team in interceptions. Hopefully Chykie Brown can replace some of that production.
